Chapter 20:  The False Prophet

The Antichrist will not be alone in his quest to make men worship him. The "False Prophet" will be Satan’s imitation of the Holy Spirit. The False Prophet will work many miracles, but he will give all of the glory to the Antichrist. The False Prophet will be the leader of the one world church that will dominate the religious scene in the near future. The forerunners of this church are already in existence. In 1948, in Amsterdam, the world council of churches was inaugurated. Their goal is to unite all of the worlds churches into one unified global organization. In 1948, the same year that the fig tree (Israel) began to bloom, the gentile branches that were grafted in began to wither. Any church that is a member of the world council of churches is a spiritually dead church. If they were not dead they would understand biblical prophecy and realize that they are fulfilling it by becoming a part of the great harlot described in the book of Revelation. In 1962 pope John XXXIII opened a council called Vatican II. The goal of this council was to bring unity to all of the Christian churches under the dominion of Rome. eventually the religions of the world will unite and form a superchurch. This newly formed church, when it comes into being, will be the great prostitute of the book of Revelation.

Revelation 13:11 "Then I saw another beast, coming out of the Earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon."

The second beast is very similar to the first beast with the exception that rather than portraying the end time alignment of the worlds governments, it portrays the end time alignment of the worlds religions. This beast that John saw, resembles a lamb, but he speaks the lies of Satan. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing, and he will make the world worship the Antichrist. He will be the leader of the one world church of the end times.

Revelation 13:12-15 "He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the Earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to Earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the Earth.  He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it would speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed."

This man will be the one who has the power to work counterfeit miracles and deceive the world into worshipping the Antichrist and the image of Antichrist. Here again it is explained that the Antichrist will appear to men have been raised from the dead, after being killed by wound from a sword. The False Prophet will also be able to call down fire from heaven. The whole world will be required to submit to idol worship or be killed. This could be fulfilled by the False Prophet requiring a large screen television to be installed in all of the churches, and when Antichrist's image appears on the screen and speaks, everyone who attends church services anywhere in the world would be required to worship the Antichrist's image and bow down before it.

The two subjects that have caused more wars and arguments than any others in the history of mankind, politics and religion, will finally appear to have arrived at a peaceful solution. The Antichrist and the False Prophet will promote their one world government and one world religion scheme as being the vehicle that will forever end the conflict about these two subjects. But, this alliance will not last for very long.  True peace between religion and politics will not occur until the Lord Jesus Christ rules the Earth as both our king and our high priest during the Millennium.

The Prophecies Of Saint Malachy

St. Malachy (1094-1148), was an Irish archbishop. In 1139 he left Ireland to journey to Rome to visit pope Innocent II. During the journey he beheld a vision of the long succession of 112 popes that were to follow before the return of Jesus Christ. The present pope, John Paul II, is number 110.

According to saint Malachy the title of the pope who will succeed John Paul II will be "the Glory of the Olive." This should be a good description of the next pope if during the time of his reign the churches are united and the great harlot of Revelation is formed. The olive branch is a symbol of peace and unity. This may also be a reference to the Antichrist, the man who brings a temporary false peace to the world.

After the pope of the olive branch comes one named "Peter the Roman," according to the vision. St. Malachy predicts that he will be the last pope, and that during the time of his reign, Rome will be destroyed.

"During the last persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there shall sit Peter of Rome, who shall feed the sheep amid great tribulations, and when these have passed, the City of the Seven Hills shall be utterly destroyed, and the awful Judge will Judge the people." The prophecies of Saint Malachy, quoted from The Encyclopedia of Prophecy.

No pope in history has ever had the audacity to take the name of Peter, who the Roman Catholic church claims was the first pope. Will the name of the last pope be Peter also?

The most amazing thing about St. Malachy's prophecies concerning the popes is that the time frame fits exactly where we are today in biblical prophetic time. The two more men that St. Malachy predicts will become bishops of Rome before the return of Christ, should be sufficient to bring us to the time when the 6000 years will be completed. Watch for the next two popes and see if they match the descriptions that St.  Malachy saw in his vision.
