Chapter 18:  The Resurrection Of Antichrist

Satan will deceive most of the world into worshipping the Antichrist because he will use his power to make it appear that this king has been raised from the dead. This will be Satan’s imitation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This counterfeit miracle will be part of the strong delusion that will convince the truth rejecting world to worship the Antichrist.

Revelation 13:3-4 "One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. Men worshipped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshipped the beast and asked, `Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?'"

Revelation 13:14 Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the Earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

At this point most of the people in the nations of the world who had previously resisted the Antichrist will give up and submit to everything that he asks, because it will appear that this man cannot even be killed. Only those who understand the prophecies of the bible and are faithful to Jesus Christ will still resist him. There is an obscure prophecy in the book of Zechariah that indicates that we may be able to identify the Antichrist with certainty after his simulated satanic resurrection.

Zechariah 11:17 "Woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be completely withered, his right eye totally blinded!"

The verse above may very well pertain to the Antichrist because the verses immediately following it pertain to Armageddon. (read Zechariah chapter 12) also remember that Christ was identified after his crucifixion and resurrection by "doubting Thomas," from the marks of his wounds. The False Prophet may claim that the marks of Antichrist's wounds are proof that he is the Messiah. A withered arm and a blind right eye will be proof that he is not the good shepherd, Jesus Christ, but that he is the evil shepherd, Antichrist. The KJV calls him the "idol" shepherd, which is what he will be, a shepherd who causes his people to worship idols and images, primarily idols and images of himself.

He (Antichrist) will probably attack the United States within a year after his counterfeit resurrection. He will attack us because out of all the nations in the world we have the largest amount of Christian people living here. If there is any nation who will reject his claim to be Jesus Christ, it will probably be the United States. Because of our past history, our Christian heritage, our freedom of religion, and the freedom of the press, more people in the United States know and understand from biblical prophecy that the Antichrist is coming before the return of Jesus Christ, than in any other country in the world. We also have a large Jewish population, and more Jews from around the world may migrate here to escape persecution from Antichrist. Just when it looks like all hope is lost and that America will be defeated by the Antichrist, and the devil will rule the world forever, the Lord will give the command for the voice of the archangel to be heard, and the trumpet to sound, and the first resurrection will take place. The Lord will rescue a remnant of his people at the very last moment. Those who have not received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at that time will be left on earth to suffer through the rest of the tribulation period, probably about one year, as the seven bowls of the "Wrath of God" is poured out.

Jude 1:9 KJV Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Daniel 12:1 KJV & NIV And at that time shall Michael stand up, (KJV) The great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be at time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people--everyone whose name is found written in the book--will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the Earth will awake: (NIV)

Jude tells us that Michael is the archangel. Michael, has been sitting down and taking a six year break from restraining Satan and the Antichrist. He will now stand up and his voice will be heard, and the first resurrection will take place. Then the Lord will pour out his wrath on the Earth for one year.

Note: according to the book of Enoch, Gabriel is also an archangel. It could be his voice that will be heard when the dead are raised. In the past, God has used Gabriel to speak good news to mankind.

Luke 1:19 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.

While these things are taking place, Satan and his demons will be gathering all of the armies of the world to the Mid-East to do battle with the Lord and his angels at his return.
