(Rev 15:1 KJV)  And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

The seven last plagues are filled up with the wrath of God. During the first two sets of judgments much of what was happening was mans inhumanity to man on the part of the Antichrist, and the mercy of God sending chastening and miracles through the two witnesses to encourage mankind to repent.

The time of God’s period for repentance in now over. The church has been harvested. The 144,000 are sealed to endure his wrath unscathed. Now the wrath of God will be poured out on a world filled with unrepentant unbelievers.


(Rev 3:10 KJV)  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

(Rev 14:7 NKJV)  saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."

The “Hour of Temptation” the time when the wrath of God is poured out has arrived and the saints are safely in heaven as it begins to unfold on earth. God has kept his promise. No saint will suffer the “Wrath of God.”


(Rev 15:2-4 NCV)  I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. All of those who had won the victory over the beast and his idol and over the number of his name were standing by the sea of glass. They had harps that God had given them. They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: "You do great and wonderful things, Lord God Almighty. Everything the Lord does is right and true, King of the nations. Everyone will respect you, Lord, and will honor you. Only you are holy. All the nations will come and worship you, because the right things you have done are now made known."


( Rev 15:5-6 NRSV)  After this I looked, and the temple of the tent of witness in heaven was opened, and out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues, robed in pure bright linen, with golden sashes across their chests.

(Rev 15:7-8 NRSV)  Then one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever; and the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were ended.


(Rev 16:1 NKJV)  Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth."


(Rev 16:2 NCV)  The first angel left and poured out his bowl on the land. Then ugly and painful sores came upon all those who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his idol.


(Rev 16:3 NCV)  The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died.


(Rev 16:4-7 NCV)  The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood. Then I heard the angel of the waters saying: "Holy One, you are the One who is and who was. You are right to decide to punish these evil people. They have poured out the blood of your holy people and your prophets. So now you have given them blood to drink as they deserve." And I heard a voice coming from the altar saying: "Yes, Lord God Almighty, the way you punish evil people is right and fair."

Just like in the time of the exodus, the Egyptians were given blood like water from the Nile river to drink because they shed the blood of the Israelites and their children, now spiritual Egypt, the followers of Antichrist will be given blood like water to drink because they shed the blood of the saints.


(Rev 16:8-9 NCV)  The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and he was given power to burn the people with fire. They were burned by the great heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these disasters. But the people refused to change their hearts and lives and give glory to God.

The hour of temptation is now in full bloom. The plagues are so great that even though men now realize that they are coming from a Holy God whom they have continuously rejected, they cannot repent. Their hearts are so hardened and bitter that they cannot even bear to ask God for forgiveness. They are undergoing pain and torment like Job suffered from Satan.

Job with his great faith and patience made it through his trial, but thank God we will not have to suffer it. No wonder it is called “The Hour of Temptation.” The temptation would be to curse God and die, which is just what the lost on earth will do after the fifth angel pours out his bowl.


(Rev 16:10-11 NCV)  The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and darkness covered its kingdom. People gnawed their tongues because of the pain. They also cursed the God of heaven because of their pain and the sores they had, but they refused to change their hearts and turn away from the evil things they did.

(Rev 9:6 NIV)  During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

Their pain is great. These pains will be even greater than those the verse above refers to, as those pains were caused by the locusts released from the bottomless pit but these are from the wrath of God. If they wished for death from the pain of the locusts how much more will they curse God and hope for death when the fourth and fifth angels pour out their bowls.


(Rev 16:12 NCV)  The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates so that the water in the river was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east to come.

The Euphrates river will be dried up, perhaps by a man made dam, so China and her allies from the east can march their armies to Armageddon.


(Rev 16:13-14 NCV)  Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. These evil spirits are the spirits of demons, which have power to do miracles. They go out to the kings of the whole world to gather them together for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.

We haven’t heard much about demonic activity up until now but it no doubt has been part of the Antichrist’s power throughout the book of Revelation. The frog has long been a symbol used by sorcerers. The plague of frogs was the last one the magicians of Egypt, Jannes, Jambres and Balaam could duplicate with their demonic powers. The frog symbolizes demonic power, just as it is stated above in verse 14.

(Exo 8:5-7 NIV)  Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.'" So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

(Exo 8:8-15 NIV)  Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray to the LORD to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the LORD." Moses said to Pharaoh, "I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile." "Tomorrow," Pharaoh said. Moses replied, "It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the LORD our God. The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile." After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the LORD about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh. And the LORD did what Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them. But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.

(Exo 8:16-19 NIV)  Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,' and throughout the land of Egypt the dust will become gnats." They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came upon men and animals. All the dust throughout the land of Egypt became gnats. But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, they could not. And the gnats were on men and animals. The magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." But Pharaoh's heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the LORD had said.

(Rev 16:15 NCV)  "Listen! I will come as a thief comes! Happy are those who stay awake and keep their clothes on so that they will not walk around naked and have people see their shame."

Immediately after the rapture many unsaved Israelites and perhaps other people in the world who for whatever reason did not take the mark will realize that Jesus Christ is Lord. The return of Christ to Jerusalem is drawing nigh. None who take the mark will be able to repent because of the pain they are in they will only be able to curse God, even though they did it to themselves. But, if there are any people who missed the rapture but didn’t take the mark for whatever reason, they may be able to repent and live into the millennium. This is a slim hope and I wouldn’t want to bet on it, but if anyone is reading this after the rapture, perhaps there is still a chance for you. Do what the verses below say and perhaps you will survive. It might not be a bad idea to find a Jew without the mark for a roommate, one of the 144,000 would be best if you can find one.

(Zep 2:1-3 NRSV)  Gather together, gather, O shameless nation, before you are driven away like the drifting chaff, before there comes upon you the fierce anger of the LORD, before there comes upon you the day of the Lord's wrath. Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, who do his commands; seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the Lord's wrath.

(Isa 26:20 NIV)  Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by.

(Mat 24:13 NKJV)  "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Anyone who missed the rapture but then realizes that Jesus Christ is Lord and desires to repent and come to God can benefit from this scriptural advice. Lay low, hide out, pray and try to make it until the wrath of God has passed and Christ returns to earth to usher in the millennium.


(Zec 13:8-9 NCV)  The LORD says, "Two-thirds of the people through all the land will die. They will be gone, and one-third will be left. The third that is left I will test with fire, purifying them like silver, testing them like gold. Then they will call on me, and I will answer them. I will say, 'You are my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is our God.'"


(Rev 16:16 NCV)  Then the evil spirits gathered the kings together to the place that is called Armageddon in the Hebrew language.

Earlier we read that the wicked would be gathered to great winepress of the wrath of God. The verse above tells us how that will be accomplished. Evil spirits will gather the armies of the world to Armageddon.


(Rev 16:17-21 NCV)  The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. Then a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, "It is finished!" Then there were flashes of lightning, noises, thunder, and a big earthquake--the worst earthquake that has ever happened since people have been on earth. The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations were destroyed. And God remembered the sins of Babylon the Great, so he gave that city the cup filled with the wine of his terrible anger. Then every island ran away, and mountains disappeared. Giant hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell from the sky upon people. People cursed God for the disaster of the hail, because this disaster was so terrible.


(Zec 12:1-2 NCV)  This message is the word of the LORD to Israel. This is what the LORD says, who stretched out the skies, and laid the foundations of the earth, and put the human spirit within: "I will make Jerusalem like a cup of poison to the nations around her. They will come and attack Jerusalem and Judah.

(Zec 12:2 KJV)  Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

In the end times Jerusalem will be the focal point of the world. It is often in the newspapers already today. It was ignored for hundreds of years after the crusades ended and the Moslems controlled it. Other than those who believed in the bible no one thought it would eve be an important city on the word scene ever again. But, God’s word is true and his promises irrevocable.

(Rom 11:29 NIV)  for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

Someday all of the armies of the nations of the world will gather together there to attack Jesus Christ as he returns from heaven to earth accompanied by his saints and his angels.

(Zec 12:3-4 NCV)  One day all the nations on earth will come together to attack Jerusalem, but I will make it like a heavy rock; anyone who tries to move it will get hurt. At that time I will confuse every horse and cause its rider to go crazy," says the LORD. "I will watch over Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the enemies.


(Zec 14:2-3 NCV)  I will bring all the nations together to fight Jerusalem. They will capture the city and rob the houses and attack the women. Half the people will be taken away as captives, but the rest of the people won't be taken from the city. Then the LORD will go to war against those nations; he will fight as in a day of battle.


(Zec 12:8-9 NCV)  At that time the LORD will protect the people in Jerusalem. Then even the weakest of them will be strong like David. And the family of David will be like God, like an angel of the LORD in front of them. At that time I will go to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.


Chapter seventeen of Revelation now flashes back to give us more detail about the end times religion of Mystery Babylon as it tells us about the destruction of the religion and it’s headquarters.

(Rev 17:1-3 NCV)  Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke to me. He said, "Come, and I will show you the punishment that will be given to the great prostitute, the one sitting over many waters. The kings of the earth sinned sexually with her, and the people of the earth became drunk from the wine of her sexual sin."

False religion in the bible is often portrayed by the comparison to an unfaithful wife or a harlot. The religion of Mystery Babylon has been the foundation for false religion and idol worship since before the flood. It has changed it’s form of worship many times and includes the Baal worship, sun worship, emperor worship and so on. It could be said that Mystery Babylon includes every form of religion that is not true religion. It all began when Satan tempted Adam and Eve to sin with his lie to them about becoming wise from disobeying God’s command. This is the big lie of the religion of Mystery Babylon, that there is another type of wisdom apart from the wisdom that comes from God.

(Gen 3:4-6 KJV)  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

(Rom 1:22-25 KJV)  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

It is not entirely clear yet what lie Satan will have Antichrist and the False Prophet use to deceive the world but we do know that whatever else it is it will be a lie since it proceeds from the father of lies.

(John 8:44 NIV)  You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.


(Rev 17:3-6 NCV)  Then the angel carried me away by the Spirit to the desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a red beast. It was covered with names against God written on it, and it had seven heads and ten horns. The woman was dressed in purple and red and was shining with the gold, precious jewels, and pearls she was wearing. She had a golden cup in her hand, a cup filled with evil things and the uncleanness of her sexual sin. On her forehead a title was written that was secret. This is what was written: THE GREAT BABYLON MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE EVIL THINGS OF THE EARTH Then I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God's holy people and with the blood of those who were killed because of their faith in Jesus. When I saw the woman, I was very amazed.

The woman is sitting upon the beast from the sea, leviathan, the beast that represents Antichrist’s kingdom. It is very possible that the end times religion will be one that endorses goddess worship, since leviathan was a female beast, according to Enoch. A woman sitting on a female beast may also indicate that end times religion may tolerate lesbianism and homosexuality. The bible continually states that sexual sin is one of the traits of the end times church. Sexual sin usually represents idol worship, but it may be literal also in the end times. Both may be true.

(Dan 11:37 NKJV)  "He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all.

In speaking of the Antichrist Daniel states that he will not regard the desire of women. The common interpretation of this verse is that he will not honor Jesus Christ, as it was the desire of women to be the mother of the Messiah. But, there may be a double meaning here. Antichrist may be a homosexual or a bisexual. We will have to wait and see.


(Rev 17:7 NCV)  Then the angel said to me, "Why are you amazed? I will tell you the secret of this woman and the beast she rides--the one with seven heads and ten horns.

(Rev 17:8 NCV)  The beast you saw was once alive but is not alive now. But soon it will come up out of the bottomless pit and go away to be destroyed. There are people who live on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life since the beginning of the world. They will be amazed when they see the beast, because he was once alive, is not alive now, but will come again.

(Rev 17:9-11 NCV)  "You need a wise mind to understand this. The seven heads on the beast are seven mountains where the woman sits. And they are seven kings. Five of the kings have already been destroyed, one of the kings lives now, and another has not yet come. When he comes, he must stay a short time. The beast that was once alive, but is not alive now, is also an eighth king. He belongs to the first seven kings, and he will go away to be destroyed.

Down through the centuries there have been many interpretations put forth to explain this very difficult section of scripture. So far none of the interpretations that I have seen really seem to hit the nail on the head. There is always some loose end or contradiction.

Some have put forth the explanation that the beast represents the Roman empire and that today’s European Union is the fulfillment. the problem is that The Roman empire existed at the time John received the Revelation, it was not dead yet, so that rules out that interpretation. It could be one of the previous Empires though, such as the Babylonian or Greek empire. If one wanted to call the European Union a “Revived Greek Empire, or a Revived Babylonian empire ” then the explanation might make sense.

Another view is that the Beast represents one of the Caesar’s, most likely Caesar Nero, and that he will appear to be reincarnated and become the Antichrist, or perhaps it could be Alexander the Great or some other great personage in history that Satan would appear to have brought back to life.

Another interpretation, and probably the best one until we find a better one is that the beast represents the fallen angelic or demonic power that was behind one or more of the empires previous to the Roman empire, probably the Babylonian empire, the Persian empire or the Grecian empire.

(Dan 10:13 NIV)  But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

(Dan 10:20 NIV)  So he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;

These verses above are not talking about the human beings that are the kings and princes of the nations. One angel destroyed 185,000 humans in the Assyrian army. What the angels were fighting against is the fallen angelic and demonic powers behind the kingdoms.

(Eph 6:12 KJV)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
 
It could very well be that when Michael assisted Gabriel in the book of Daniel in defeating the prince of Persia and then later the prince of Grecia that he put those powers in a type of prison until the end times. We have already read that evil angels and demons will be released from the abyss during the tribulation period.

Until God gives us more information, and he will as the time draws nearer, I think the best explanation is that the powers of darkness that were once free and in charge of ancient evil kingdoms that persecuted Israel will be released in the end times to once again persecute Israel, the saints of God (Christians) and be the beings that Satan uses to assist him in setting up and maintaining the Antichrists kingdom.

(Rev 17:12-13 NCV)  "The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet begun to rule, but they will receive power to rule with the beast for one hour. All ten of these kings have the same purpose, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.


(Rev 17:14 NCV)  They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings. He will defeat them with his called, chosen, and faithful followers."


(Rev 17:15 NCV)  Then the angel said to me, "The waters that you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, races, nations, and languages.

(Rev 17:16-17 NCV)  The ten horns and the beast you saw will hate the prostitute. They will take everything she has and leave her naked. They will eat her body and burn her with fire. God made the ten horns want to carry out his purpose by agreeing to give the beast their power to rule, until what God has said comes about.

After the rapture the kings of the earth will realize that the false religion of Mystery Babylon deceived them and now they must face the wrath of God. Indeed, the destruction of the false church may be brought about by the ten kings, perhaps they will launch a nuclear attack upon the seat of false religion in anger and anguish as they are suffering from the sores that break out on everyone who took the mark.

( Rev 17:18 NCV)  The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth."

Once again there have been many interpretations put forth concerning this verse. The most common one is that the great city mentioned above is Rome. Rome is built on seven hills and if the False Prophet took over the papacy that interpretation might work.

Others have said that it represents Jerusalem because Jesus Christ and many of the prophets were killed there. This is also a possibility because the Lord could destroy Jerusalem at his coming and the new Jerusalem which comes down from heaven would not violate the scriptures about the city never being rebuilt.

Some say that the evil city is New York because it is one of the world greatest centers of commerce. It could also be some other great city in the world that becomes rich through trade during the time of the Antichrist.

Another opinion is that the ancient city of Babylon could be rebuilt and Antichrist or the False prophet might rule from there. It is possible that Antichrist could rule from Jerusalem and the False Prophet could transfer the seat of all religions to a rebuilt Babylon.

There are certainly a lot of possibilities and the wise person will keep their eyes open to world events and watch for information concerning exactly what city this will be.


(Rev 18:1-3 NCV)  After the vision of these things, I saw another angel coming down from heaven. This angel had great power, and his glory made the earth bright. He shouted in a powerful voice: "Ruined, ruined is the great city of Babylon! She has become a home for demons and a prison for every evil spirit, and a prison for every unclean bird and unclean beast. She has been ruined, because all the peoples of the earth have drunk the wine of the desire of her sexual sin. She has been ruined also because the kings of the earth have sinned sexually with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the great wealth of her luxury."


(Rev 18:4-6 NCV)  Then I heard another voice from heaven saying: "Come out of that city, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive the disasters that will come to her. Her sins have piled up as high as the sky, and God has not forgotten the wrongs she has done. Give that city the same as she gave to others. Pay her back twice as much as she did. Prepare wine for her that is twice as strong as the wine she prepared for others.

The Antichrists Babylonian government and religious system will be in existence before the rapture and anyone trafficking in it should come out of it. After the rapture the 144,000 sealed Israelites and anyone who hasn’t taken the mark should stay out of Antichrist’s domain, wherever that may be at the time. When we find out what cities Antichrist and the False Prophet are ruling from those would be good places to avoid going to either for vacation or business lest some of their sins rub off on us. Indeed, the temptations will be great in the cities that are the seats of evil government and false religion.

(Rev 18:7-9 NCV)  She gave herself much glory and rich living. Give her that much suffering and sadness. She says to herself, 'I am a queen sitting on my throne. I am not a widow; I will never be sad.' So these disasters will come to her in one day: death, and crying, and great hunger, and she will be destroyed by fire, because the Lord God who judges her is powerful." The kings of the earth who sinned sexually with her and shared her wealth will see the smoke from her burning. Then they will cry and be sad because of her death.

The great city, the seat of false religion will be destroyed in one day by fire. It sounds like a nuclear attack or perhaps even something worse that has not been invented yet.

(Rev 18:10-14 NCV)  They will be afraid of her suffering and stand far away and say: "Terrible! How terrible for you, great city, powerful city of Babylon, because your punishment has come in one hour!" And the merchants of the earth will cry and be sad about her, because now there is no one to buy their cargoes--cargoes of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, red cloth; all kinds of citron wood and all kinds of things made from ivory, expensive wood, bronze, iron, and marble; cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, horses, carriages, slaves, and human lives. The merchants will say, "Babylon, the good things you wanted are gone from you. All your rich and fancy things have disappeared. You will never have them again."

(Rev 18:15-19 NCV)  The merchants who became rich from selling to her will be afraid of her suffering and will stand far away. They will cry and be sad and say: "Terrible! How terrible for the great city! She was dressed in fine linen, purple and red cloth, and she was shining with gold, precious jewels, and pearls! All these riches have been destroyed in one hour!" Every sea captain, every passenger, the sailors, and all those who earn their living from the sea stood far away from Babylon. As they saw the smoke from her burning, they cried out loudly, "There was never a city like this great city!" And they threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and being sad. They said: "Terrible! How terrible for the great city! All the people who had ships on the sea became rich because of her wealth! But she has been destroyed in one hour!

The businessmen of the world will lament because of the wealth that selling things to this city garnered for them, and now it is no more. Their source of great income is gone. Notice, none of the unbelievers seem happy because evil is being wiped out, they are only worried about making money. It is just as James said.

(James 5:1-8 NIV)  Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you. Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.


(Rev 18:20 NCV)  Be happy because of this, heaven! Be happy, God's holy people and apostles and prophets! God has punished her because of what she did to you."


(Rev 18:21-23 NCV)  Then a powerful angel picked up a large stone, like one used for grinding grain, and threw it into the sea. He said: "In the same way, the great city of Babylon will be thrown down, and it will never be found again. The music of people playing harps and other instruments, flutes, and trumpets, will never be heard in you again. No workman doing any job will ever be found in you again. The sound of grinding grain will never be heard in you again. The light of a lamp will never shine in you again, and the voices of a bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world's great people, and all the nations were tricked by your magic.

Again we see that sorcery and magic are involved in the false religion also. Sometimes the magic is the allure of temporal riches. It never ceases to amaze me how people can look in the paper every day and read the obituary column and see how temporary life is, and yet strive so hard to get rich when life can disappear at any moment.

(Luke 12:16-21 NIV)  And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.' "Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry."' "But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?' "This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God."

(Mat 6:19-21 NIV)  "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.


(Rev 18:24 NCV)  You are guilty of the death of the prophets and God's holy people and all who have been killed on earth."

It is amazing how people can be driven into a frenzy and convinced to do almost anything in the name of religion. Jesus predicted it would happen. True religion is to love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself and to help the less fortunate. If all religions would just practice those things what a wonderful world it would be. But, that’s not the way it is. Some people feel that they are doing God a service by killing anyone who doesn’t agree with them. This is false religion no matter what belief system it stems from. A Christian murdering an abortion doctor is no different than a Palestinian suicide bomber blowing himself and other up in Israel. The goal of a true Christian is to love God, love people, and to try to lead them to Christ as long as they are still breathing, and not to kill them early so they stop breathing.

(John 16:2-3 NIV)  They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.


(Rev 19:1-6 NCV)  After this vision and announcement I heard what sounded like a great many people in heaven saying: "Hallelujah! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God, because his judgments are true and right. He has punished the prostitute who made the earth evil with her sexual sin. He has paid her back for the death of his servants." Again they said: "Hallelujah! She is burning, and her smoke will rise forever and ever." Then the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures bowed down and worshiped God, who sits on the throne. They said: "Amen, Hallelujah!" Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God, all you who serve him and all you who honor him, both small and great!" Then I heard what sounded like a great many people, like the noise of flooding water, and like the noise of loud thunder. The people were saying: "Hallelujah! Our Lord God, the Almighty, rules.


(Rev 19:7-9 NCV)  Let us rejoice and be happy and give God glory, because the wedding of the Lamb has come, and the Lamb's bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given to her to wear." (The fine linen means the good things done by God's holy people.) And the angel said to me, "Write this: Happy are those who have been invited to the wedding meal of the Lamb!" And the angel said, "These are the true words of God."


We will take a few moments here and explain what is going on in heaven while the wrath of God was being poured out on earth. We have seen that the rapture took place at the sounding of the seventh trumpet. That was followed by the bowls of God’s wrath being poured out upon the earth. Simultaneously in heaven the saved are celebrating the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

My personal opinion is that we will be able to see the events on earth transpiring as we celebrate with Jesus in heaven drinking wine with him in his kingdom. I think it will be like a big super bowl party. We will be feasting and celebrating and watching the events on the earth on the big screen and cheering and celebrating wildly as the Antichrist, the False Prophet, crooked government, false religion and all those who persecuted us are getting what they deserve. We will also be thrilled as we see those on earth the 144,000 and others who are eluding Antichrist and with the angels help are surviving while the wrath of God is being poured out and will meet us with joy when we return shortly with Christ to save them. How exciting that will be.


The chart above shows the most likely scenario for the time of the rapture. No one can be absolutely certain but this viewpoint is based on the old testament scriptures that show how God always grants freedom and rest on a sabbath (seventh) after six periods of work or bondage. The seventh day after six days of work, or the seventh year to rest the ground after six years of planting, or the seventh one thousand year period after six thousand years of human existence, is always a time of rest, freedom, and release from bondage.

The old testament also indicates that the marriage celebration of the lamb will last for one year. This theory expects that Christians will have to endure six years of tribulation and will then be rescued by the first resurrection to escape the wrath of God that will be poured out on earth during the entire seventh year of Antichrists reign. This opinion appears to be the only one that permits all scriptures concerning the great tribulation, the first resurrection, and the wrath of God, to be fulfilled without any contradictions. The saints will endure much tribulation and persecution, but they will be spared from the wrath of God. We will look at some of scriptures that indicate that this is the correct viewpoint.


The church of Philadelphia has been promised by Christ that they will be spared from the "hour of temptation" that will try them that dwell upon the earth.

Revelation 3:10-12 KJV "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

To find out when the church of Philadelphia will be rescued we again have to go back to the old testament and find out how long the marriage supper of the Lamb will last, or, how much of our time will elapse from the time of the first resurrection until the return of Jesus Christ to earth with his saints.

Deuteronomy 24:5 KJV When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

Deuteronomy 20:7 KJV And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? Let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.

In the old testament God decreed that a newly married man could not be sent out to war during the first year of his marriage. God must be faithful to his own word, so therefore Christ must fulfill this scripture and celebrate with his new bride for a minimum of one year at the marriage supper of the Lamb before he can return and go to war and destroy the armies of the world at Armageddon. He could wait more than one year without violating his word, but in most cases god fulfills his word exactly as he has written it. While there is no danger of Christ dying in the battle and not being able to marry the wife he is engaged to, he still must fulfill this law because God has bound himself to keep his own word. This law is a spiritual precept, a mystery, which Christ himself being perfect, will keep when he marries his bride, the church and the saved of all ages.

Matthew 5:17-18 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

Luke 24:44-46 He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

Jesus said that everything written about him in the law of Moses, in the prophets, and in the Psalms, must be fulfilled. In order to fulfill the law concerning marriage, Christ must wait for at least one year after the first resurrection, when he marries the church, before he goes out to war with the armies of the world at Armageddon.

Ephesians 5:31-32 KJV For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Paul also uses marriage as an example, and says that it is a great mystery. Human marriage symbolizes Christ’s relationship with his future bride, the church.

Deuteronomy 20:5 KJV And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.

God also made another law stating that a man who had built a new house was not to go to war until he had dedicated it.

John 14:2-3 KJV In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Christ is preparing a new mansion for his bride, and he will dedicate it with her before returning to the earth to do battle.

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

"The new Jerusalem", is the name of the city that the mansions are being prepared in, and it too is compared to a bride adorned for her husband.  We will celebrate the marriage supper of the lamb with Christ in the new Jerusalem and dedicate the new dwelling places that Christ has prepared for us. Like the song says, “I’ve got a mansion, just over the hilltop...” The mansion is the one Christ is preparing for us.

There are more verses that indicate that the first resurrection will take place one year before the return of Christ to earth.

Exodus 21:2 KJV If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

Revelation 1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place.

We, (the saved) are at present the servants of Christ, and in the future we will become his bride. Those who are a part of the "fig tree" generation will undergo six years of hard labor for Christ, enduring the hatred of the world for bearing his name, for being called "Christians." In the seventh year we will be freed at the sounding of the seventh trumpet.

Exodus 23:10-11 "For six years you are to sow your fields and harvest the crops, but during the seventh year let the land lie unplowed and unused.

Leviticus 25:3-4 For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and gather their crops. But in the seventh year the land is to have a sabbath of rest, a sabbath to the LORD. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.

Throughout the scriptures God uses the number seven to initiate a time of rest and freedom after six years of labor or use. Even the ground was to be given a rest in the seventh year.


Matthew 13:36-43 Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field." He answered, "The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. "As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age." The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

The real harvest of the earth is when God raises the dead and also calls up those believers who are still living into his kingdom. God's past dealings with mankind indicate that we can expect to be taken out of the world after six years of hard times, six years of persecution during the reign of antichrist.

Revelation 14:14-16 I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one "like a son of man" with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, "Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

The book of Revelation gives us the order of the harvest of the earth. The harvest of the saints comes first, when both the living and the dead are called up to meet Christ in the air. The one like a son of man sitting on a cloud, is of course Christ. The harvest described above is the first resurrection. This harvest is followed by a second harvest, the gathering of the armies of the world together to be destroyed at Armageddon, like grapes being crushed in a winepress.

Revelation 14:17-20 Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, "Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth's vine, because its grapes are ripe." The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath. They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia. (180 miles)

The sounding of the seventh trumpet is a time for joy for God's people, but it is the harbinger of doom for those who are left on the earth. It is the signal for "the wrath of God" to be poured out on the world. Blood will flow from Armageddon into the Jordan river for 180 miles, and exit at the gulf of Aquaba, which empties into the appropriately named, "Red Sea."


A document known as the Didache in Greek, or "the Teaching of the Twelve Apostles," was being circulated in the church between 60 and 150 ad, and is the oldest Christian non biblical document that we have preserved from the first century church. This document contains the rules of the early church concerning baptism, the Lord's supper, Christian living, and a section about future prophecy.


Watch over your life: do not let your lamps go out, and do not be unprepared, but be ready, for you do not know the hour when our Lord is coming. Gather together frequently, seeking the things that benefit your souls, for all the time you have believed will be of no use to you if you are not found perfect in the last time. For in the last days the false prophets and corrupters will abound, and the sheep will be turned into wolves, and love will be turned into hate. For as lawlessness increases, they will hate and persecute and betray one another.

And then the "Deceiver of the World" will appear as a son of God and will perform signs and wonders, and the earth will be delivered into his hands, and he will commit abominations the likes of which have never happened before. Then all humankind will come to the fiery test, and many will fall away, and perish; but those who endure to the end in their faith will be saved.

And then there will appear the signs of the truth: First the sign of an opening in heaven, then the sign of the sound of a trumpet, and third, the resurrection of the dead, but not all of the dead, rather as it has been said, "the Lord will come, and all his saints with him."

The teaching contained in the document above appears to agree with the position that the church will have to endure the fiery test of persecution by the Antichrist before the sounding of the seventh trumpet initiates the first resurrection and delivers them from his hand.
